Methods
Most fishing on Kamchatka is either from well-appointed base camps or more often by rafting downriver, camping along the way. Floating on the river gives fishermen an opportunity to fish in different places. While waiting for the flight home, many fishermen take the opportunity to use a marine charter to fish for halibut and sole. Contact our advertisers for more information.
Catch & release fishing
Anglers must have a valid sports fishing license and a tour operator can acquire this for them. To preserve healthy fish stocks, Kamchatka has stringent catch and release fishing. Operators will assist you in taking measurements and photographing you with your catch before releasing it back into the river.
