BEST PRACTICES IN KAMCHATKA ECOTOURISM

A VOLUNTARY PROGRAM TO DOCUMENT THE BEST OF KAMCHATKA’S TOUR BUSINESSES IN FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES OF ECOTOURISM

Kamchatka Ecotourism Society Principles

  • Respects and involves the local community and reduces negative impacts on culture and nature.

  • Supports the local economy.

  • Operates the business in an environmentally sustainable manner.

  • Actively supports conservation.

  • Stimulates joy, knowledge, and respect for local cultures.

  • Quality and safety throughout the whole tour.

Our goals

- Document how these principles can help businesses to operate under international standards which will improve the quality of their work.

- “Best Practices in Kamchatka Ecotourism” gives us the opportunity to demonstrate the existing high quality of some Kamchatka tour companies, and how they contribute to preservation of nature, culture; and to the development of the local economy and quality of life in Kamchatka.

The Kamchatka Ecotourism Society has not certified or verified the claims made by individual companies in their “Best Practices” documentation.
