Respect local traditions – reduce negative impact on nature and culture
We set ourselves the goal to make an environmental plan in 2009. Although there isn’t an opportunity to recyle refuse in Kamchatka, Diligans Kamchatka tries to re-use resources effectively and rationally, so that we negatively affect our environment. We reuse paper and then burn it. We compost organic waste, leftovers from food on tours. We take care not to use disposable dishes.
Quality and safety throughout the whole tour
When not long ago, our group of clients required to film in very extreme northern areas of Kamchatka, Diligans Kamchatka decided to coordinate their work by asking aboriginal residents of that area for advise on proper attire, for local guides, who were specialized in hunting in extreme conditions, as well we conferred with foreign specialists in aspects of survival in extreme cold environments. If we don’t have the right knowledge, we try to get it.
Supports the local economy
Diligans Kamchatka gives tremendous attention to quality of prepared food using healthy food, including vegetables and greens from our own garden. This confirms the vegetables and greens we ourselves grew; we buy fish from local fishermen, reindeer meat directly from reindeer herders. All of our employees are officially registered and are residents of Kamchatka. We hire seasonal help from the local population for guides, cooks, drivers, etc. During tours, we offer our visitors the chance to visit a local dacha, ethnographic presentations for acquaintance with Russian and Kamchatka cultures.
Stimulate joy, knowledge, and respect for local culture
Diligans Kamchatka gives its employees the chance to increase their qualifications through trainings and other opportunities. As well they hire for seasonal work the most experienced guides in Kamchatka, all of whom have complete knowledge of flora, fauna, as well as the itinerary.
Guides work with tourists throughout the day, and lead campfire talks about Russian and Kamchatka cultures, and information about the itinerary. At the final banquet, we gather guests and talk about the tour, what they liked, and listen to their suggestions for improvements. They also exchange addresses, photographs, and evaluate the quality of the tour.
Actively participate in wilderness conservation
For example in 2008 we donated to the Yuzhno-Kamchatsky Sanctuary 400 liters of fuel, so that their rangers can continue their anti-poaching efforts. As well they organized free delivery of building materials to Nalychevo Nature Park in 2 helicopters. In Yuzhno-Kamchatsky Nature Park they donated building materials and organized delivery of it to the park to build a banya.

Respect local traditions – reduce negative impact on nature and culture
Our company carefully plans and we are interested in developing sustainable tourism and in preservation of Kamchatka’s unique biological diversity. For example, we offer sport fishing and we comply with this principle and its criteria by cooperating with the following research and enforcement organizations: KamchatNIRO, Sevostrybvod, and Rospotrebnadzor. Fishing is only conducted on approved fishing areas, which have been relegated for sport fishing, under controlled conditions, under the leadership by professional guides. Our service to clients meets international standards.
During sport fishing tours, our guides more than once identify poachers’ nets, which have been set for illegal catching of salmon.
Our employees helped to gather data for the UNDP/GEF project “Conservation of salmon biological diversity on Kamchatka and sustainable use.”
Supports the local economy
Our company is registered in the Kamchatka Region, and our tours only take place in Kamchatka so we use other tour services which are local. 100% of the cost of our tours on a local level stays within Kamchatka. We pay taxes for our activities which go into the local budget.
We only have local people working in the organization, as well, every season we attract young people who learn guide skills and give them the chance to gain experience and to develop different guiding skills for wilderness tours.
Actively participate in wilderness conservation
Our organization actively participates in the UNDP/GEF project “Preservation of salmon biological diversity in Kamchatka and its sustainable use.” We also participate in other practical actions that help various conservation organizations.
Quality and safety throughout the whole tour
We have worked in tourism for more than 15 years, and as a tour operator I can offer my services as a consultant to help our service providers to give better service thus attracting loyal clients.
At this time, in agreement with the tourism law, we have the basic license for being a tour operator and are on the federal register dated June 1, 2008. We cooperate with the Kamchatka rescue service and have the required financial guarantee through Kamchatka-ROSNO for tour operators.

Respect local traditions – reduce negative impact on nature and culture
Adventure Land informs our employees about available training to increase their qualifications in ecotourism. Some guides for sport fishing gather and data like species, quantity, and size of fish for fish caught on our trips.
Make the activities of the company ecologically sustainable
We pack out all garbage from our trips and properly dispose of it.
Adventure Land generally doesn’t use disposable dishes, for example all of our field dishes are made of stainless steel.
During the tours, the manager at Adventure Land coordinates the transfers of tourists, expendable supplies, with the goal of conserving both energy and transportation use, and economizing funds. For example we try to plan transfers of our groups in/out of the field by using 1 helicopter rather than dead heading an empty helicopter. We also use any supplies left from a previous group for a future group.
Adventure Land only uses 4 stroke gasoline-powered generators to minimize noise and pollution.
Actively participates in wilderness conservation
The owner of Adventure Land is a member of the regional non-profit Kamchatka Ecotourism Society. Their personnel carefully care for the environment during an entire tour, keep statistics of catch and release of fish (species, quantity, and size), numbers of tourists, and always are ready to provide necessary information to enforcement or conservation organizations.
Stimulates joy, knowledge, and respect for local cultures
Our team works with non-Russian tourists and so at a minimum one staff member on the team knows conversational English. As necessary, we also may send along an interpreter with the group in other languages. For sport fishing groups, the typical size of a group doesn’t exceed 10-11 participants with 2-3 participants being served by 1 guide.
